My background includes training in public programming, archives management, exhibit research and design, community outreach, museum administration, and the digital humanities among other skills. As a historian, my knowledge base is varied, but includes research in community histories, urban history, labor history, intellectual history, African-American history and popular culture. My current research interests include the intellectual lives of hobos, and the history of the field trip.
